Campaign 9: 25 November, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

25  November, 2024

The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women (Resolution 54/134). The purpose of this day is to raise global awareness about the fact that women are subjected to rape, domestic violence, and other forms of violence. Additionally, one of the objectives of the day is to emphasize that the full scale and true nature of this issue are often concealed.

In the Intercepted project, we aim to support this global campaign by shedding light on an important issue. To do so, we have interviewed Francisco Jódar, a psychologist with the Generalitat de Catalunya and an expert in youth mediation, and we have asked him:

  • Is there any link between pornography comsuption and trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation?
  • Has pornography comsuption among young people increased, and what are its effects?
  • What is the message to young people who consume pornography?
